Tall Tale Writing Prompt

This resource includes files which allow students to complete the writing process while creating a tall tale story. The files include a prompt, an example essay, a revising and editing checklist, a peer conference worksheet, a rough draft storyboard with instructions, and a final draft template. This prompt is great for use with "Paul Bunyan" in 4th grade Trophies and/or with figurative language lessons (specifically hyperbole). The storyboard can be used as a method of prewriting where the students illustrate a scene in the box and describe it below with an emphasis on hyperbole and descriptive language.
