Similarity Groups Cooperative Learning Class Building Activities

I use these class building activities after track break, at the beginning of the year, as a sponge activity, or as needed in order to build mutual support in the classroom. The poster explains the steps for similarity groups. I cut out each clip art, glue to a piece of construction paper, and post in a corner of the room. Then students go to the corner they identify with (for example, "What is your favorite dessert?" or "What mode of transportation best describes you?") and share their reasons with a partner in their corner. Student volunteers share with the class. I also included a list of class building and team building activities. #Wiki-TeacherLiveMarch10
